València (EFE).- The singer and composer Sole Giménez will take to Latin America the ambitious tour that begins this Friday at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia and with which she commemorates her 40 years in the world of music, first with the group Presuntos Involved and already as a soloist for the last decade.
This was announced this Friday to EFE TV a few hours before the recital that, dubbed “Celebration!”, will be offered with special guests, such as Joan Manuel Serrat -in his first performance after his goodbye to the stage-, Miguel Poveda and Antonio José, as well as his daughter, with tickets sold out for days.
In 40 years “I have changed and I hope for the better,” he says. I have learned a lot, some things more than others, but I think I have learned; I know myself a little better, age also gives you a certain serenity and I already know my profession well, and although the world of music has changed a lot, writing songs and singing them… that hasn’t changed».
“I’m excited, the truth is that I’m nervous,” she admits, because in this concert, in addition to being the start of the tour, her new album will also be recorded.
«There are many things that can fail, including my voice, I hope not!, but I am also very excited because I am going to meet again with songs that I have not sung for a long time and with an audience that is also waiting to hear them and with a wonderful band that he accompanies me, that is, it is going to be a night of many emotions, ”he says.

“Getting here has not been easy”
Born in Paris almost 60 years ago, raised in Yecla (Murcia) and Valencian by adoption, Sole Giménez acknowledges that getting here “has not been easy” and about the guests this Friday she is clear: “It’s just that I didn’t believe!”.
After praising the professional and human category of Miguel Poveda and Antonio José, she assures that “the great maestro Serrat” is for her “a benchmark” and having him on stage tonight “is a real gift”, as happened the other way around last summer when she participated as a guest in the second of the farewell recitals of the author of “Mediterranean” in the Valencia bullring.
And what is the secret to spending 40 years in music? «The only thing I know is that I have worked a lot, I have not let others do it, I have done it myself and I have done it at all levels. It is work, work and work, involvement, commitment, responsibility and love, love for music and for what you do », he answers.
Regarding the tour, he advances that his intention is to go to all possible cities and “also, obviously, jump the pond and be in Latin America: Mexico, Chile, Colombia…”.
«I think it is a repertoire that will take us to many places because there are many people wanting to hear it again. I haven’t sung enough of these songs in a long time,” he adds.
