Madrid (EFE).- Twenty Spanish armored vehicles will leave next Monday by boat to Ukraine from the port of Bilbao.
These armored vehicles that will leave for Ukraine from Bilbao join another twenty of these armored tracked vehicles that were donated to the Ukrainian army last September.
It is the oldest armored vehicle in service of the Spanish Army that is used to transport military personnel.
The Defense Minister, Margarita Robles, confirmed last Friday the dispatch of the armored vehicles during a visit to the Spanish troops deployed in Latvia.
The troops are participating in the NATO Enhanced Presence mission.
To it Spain contributes several units of these armored caterpillar transport vehicles.
The armored, commitment to Ukraine
The delivery of the twenty TOA armored vehicles to Ukraine from Bibao is part of the “clear and unequivocal commitment to peace”, as are the Leopard 24A tanks that Spain plans to send to that country.
The Leopards will probably be shipped next spring, according to Robles advanced during his visit to Latvia.

These tanks will come out of the 53 that have been deactivated for a decade. They are now stored at the Logistics Support Group No. 41 in Casetas (Zaragoza).
They are the oldest -bought from Germany in the nineties-.
They require a set-up that would take about a month and a half, according to Defense sources.
In addition, the training of the Ukrainian military in its use and handling would require another month. EFE
