Logroño, (EFE).- The deputy secretary of Territorial Organization of the PP, Miguel Tellado, said this Wednesday that his party sees “bad faith” that the Government and its president, Pedro Sánchez, promoted the draft of the “only yes” law It is yes» and has considered that Sánchez should dismiss the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, from Podemos.
Sánchez was “fully aware” of the consequences of this law, also having three jurists of “recognized prestige” in his Council of Ministers, he added at an information conference in Logroño.
Due to the latest statements by the former minister and socialist deputy Carmen Calvo, the Prime Minister was warned in the Council of Ministers of the consequences that the approval of this regulation could have on victims of sexual assault, Tellado said.
He has also stressed that both the President of the Government and the Minister for Equality are responsible for the approval of this regulation, and “it would be an unprecedented exercise in political cowardice, if Sánchez believes that by dismissing the Minister for Equality, he delimits her responsibilities, but, of course, it must cease.
Tellado has applauded the Government’s announcement to modify this law, which will have the support of this political force, although it does not have the votes of Podemos.
Pedro Sánchez, has assured, “he is not listening to the PP, to legal experts from all over the country to rectify, to the victims and their families, but to Tezanos (José Félix Tezanos, president of the CIS), and he rectifies because he recommends doing so” .
“If the PSOE rectifies this issue, it is due to electoralism pure and simple, not for assuming a mistake,” said the leader of the PP.
This government is installed “in an incompetence and in a moral relativism that this country cannot afford”, stressed Tellado, who has stressed that the PP applauds the rectification of the Government when rectifying the law, but insists on its denunciation of the damage that it has caused and that it may continue to cause until its modification.
Finally, it has asked the Government to “have the necessary humility to admit its error, to apologize and assume the political responsibilities derived from this serious error, which threatens the integrity of women throughout Spain.” EFE.
