Madrid, (EFE).- The Inditex textile group has started charging 1.95 euros from this Wednesday for the returns of online purchases made in any of its brands for which home collection is requested, as it had been doing for 30 markets that did not include Spain.
“Returns of orders placed after February 1, 2023 will have a cost of 1.95 euros that will be deducted from the amount refunded,” explains the company on various web pages of its different brands.
As Inditex sources have explained to EFE, this surcharge will not only apply to Zara, the company’s flagship brand, but to all the group’s brands -Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka, Oysho, Massimo Dutti and Zara Home-.
However, the company will continue to offer free returns if they are carried out in the group’s stores.
As EFE has been able to verify, the surcharge of 1.95 euros is already in force when returning items with home collection at Zara, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Oysho and Massimo Dutti, while prices vary in other chains.
In Stradivarius it is allowed to return in store or through a delivery point -the latter with a cost of 1.95 euros- and in Zara Home the surcharge varies “depending on the item”.
With this maneuver, Zara joins other competitors such as H&M, which for months has been charging 1.95 euros to customers who are not registered on its website; El Corte Inglés, with up to 7.9 euros for complete returns, or Uniqlo, which charges 2.95 euros and does not offer the possibility of free returns in its physical stores.
On the contrary, one of Inditex’s main rivals in Spain, Mango, does not apply any surcharge for home collection, just like the Tendam group (with brands such as Cortefiel, Springfield, Women’secret, Hoss or Pedro del Hierro). .
