Las Palmas De Gran Canaria (EFE) sources from the regional department have confirmed to EFE.
The Ministry, therefore, will not hold oppositions in 2023, as planned, and will resolve the stabilization oppositions next year while processing the 3,948 places that will be granted in the Canary Islands by merit competition, without the need to take an exam, within the extraordinary stabilization process.
This has been transferred by the Ministry to the unions in a meeting held this Wednesday and that several union organizations have notified their affiliates.
«There will be no oppositions in 2023. This has been communicated by the Ministry of Education in a meeting held today with the union organizations. The recently called stabilization oppositions for all teaching bodies will take place in 2024, “said one of the messages released by CCOO, which was favorable to the decision because” it benefits the options of interim staff.
For its part, the ANPE union has indicated that it also seems to them a good decision although “they have always defended the calls”, but they understand that it is an “exceptional situation”.
“Transferring the holding of the tests to 2024 is an option that would improve the opportunities of the temporary workers who work in the Canary Islands because many temporary workers from the Canary Islands and from other communities could obtain a place before the oppositions are held in the archipelago,” the union has pointed out.
He has also pointed out that the interim workers who work in the Canary Islands could continue to gain experience and, in addition, “not a single one of the places provided for in the stabilization opposition contest would be lost, since they have already been published, both in the public job offer as in the summons.
«As a positive aspect, we appreciate that the Administration plans to open lists in specialties of all bodies, to cover needs and allow the entry of new teachers into the system. The administration has shown openness to introducing improvements in the interim order, in a Technical Table to be held on February 9,” ANPE concluded in a message to its affiliates. EFE
