Ceuta (EFE).- The Civil Guard of Ceuta has recovered this morning from the shore of a local beach the lifeless body of a young North African immigrant who has been dragged to the area by the strong currents of recent days.
The corpse was on the shore of the Ribera beach -in the very center of the city-, and it has been verified that it was a young man who was wearing street clothes.
The body has been transferred to the municipal funeral home for an autopsy, although everything indicates that it is an immigrant who tried to enter the city by swimming or aboard a boat and drowned.
Third corpse recovered in 2023
The Civil Guard is now going to investigate the possible connection of this finding with the arrival on the Ceuta coast last week of a boat whose pilot threw the occupants into the sea, three of whom were rescued and whose testimony allowed to determine that in the boat more migrants traveled, without specifying their number.
The body is the third recovered from the sea this year in the city, since on January 13 another body was found at the Muelle de Poniente while on January 25 that of another young Moroccan was found in the vicinity of the Muelle de España , inside the port of the city.
