Madrid (EFE).- The interannual rate of the consumer price index (CPI) has risen one tenth in January, up to 5.8%, after the withdrawal of the bonus to the price of fuels and despite the drop in VAT of some foods.
According to the data advanced this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), underlying inflation, without unprocessed food or energy products, has climbed half a point to 7.5%.
The INE links the rise in inflation in January to the rise in fuels, higher than that of January 2022, since the decrease in clothing and footwear prices has been less than last year.
The entry Inflation rises to 5.8% in January after the end of aid for fuels was first published in EFE Noticias.
