San Fernando de Henares (Madrid) (EFE) against the presence of the lawyer representing the Generalitat as an accusation.
Almost thirty defendants sit on the bench for this piece of the macro-cause, centered on the allegedly irregular award to a Gürtel company of the assembly of the Valencian Community exhibitor at the Fitur fair in 2009.
Along with Camps, several former senior officials of his government and those considered leaders of the plot are accused.
During an eminently technical conference, focused on the previous issues, the former president of the Generalitat for eight years (2003-2011), who is facing a tax request of 2 and a half years in jail and 10 years of disqualification accused of prevarication and fraud, has denounced the violation of a series of rights such as the presumption of innocence.
Prescribed offenses and “res judicata”
His defense has argued that he cannot continue in the defendant’s dock since the crimes would be prescribed and would also be faced with the principle of “res judicata” because there is an “identity” between this trial and the one known as “the suits”, from which he was acquitted, and has said that the court has already ruled out that there were “indications of indications for the award of contracts to Orange Market”, a company in the plot, between 2005 and 2008.
But it has been the presence of the lawyer of the Generalitat as an accusation in the trial that has focused a good part of the complaints of the defenses, who have denounced that he presented the document requesting civil liability after the deadline and have slipped that, in his case, he should adhere to the brief of the Prosecutor’s Office, in addition to questioning the way the lawyer was hired through a minor contract.
The Bigotes wedding video
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, for its part, has requested that the video of the wedding of Álvaro Pérez, el Bigotes, be shown, one of the main convicts of this macro-cause of corruption and responsible for Orange Market, considering that it “evidence” his relationship with Camps, who has strongly opposed his proposal.
Pérez is one of the eleven defendants who, along with others considered Gürtel leaders such as Francisco Correa and Pablo Crespo, and various senior officials who made up the Camps government, have accepted the facts after reaching an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office in search of reductions in your sentencing requests.
They will be the first to declare as of Tuesday, after Anti-Corruption and the accusations answer the previous questions raised by the parties and the court announces a decision on the matter.

Camps: “It has been a fierce persecution of Anti-Corruption”
Moments before today’s hearing, the former president Camps has denounced at the gates of the courts a “fierce persecution” by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and its “secret and obscene pacts”, although he has assured: “I fear absolutely nothing.”
“I have never feared anything that has to do with everything that during these years has been a fierce persecution by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office,” he stressed in statements to journalists.
