According to sources from the National Police, which this Friday took over the investigation, the body of the baby found by a private individual is that of a newborn child.
The same sources have specified that there are no apparent signs of violence, although the corpse remains in the Forensic Anatomical Institute and it will be the autopsy that determines the causes of death.
The baby’s body was located by a private individual who, around 11:00 a.m. this Friday, alerted the 112 Andalusia emergency service that he had found the newborn wrapped in blankets on Camino de la Barrera de El Fargue, located in the northeastern area of the Granada capital.
The coordinating center then alerted the National Police Force, the Local Police and the 061 Health Emergency Center, which dispatched a medical team.
The National Police has taken charge of the investigation and, after activating the corresponding judicial protocol, awaits the results of the autopsy and the DNA data to clarify what happened.
