Madrid (EFE) years has been murdered.
It is the second meeting of this type that Irene Montero’s department has held in less than a month, after the same body convened on December 28 due to the rise in sexist crimes, 11 in total, which made the last month of 2022 in one of the deadliest since there are records.
The crisis committee will bring together the Ministries of Equality, Justice and the Interior, the autonomous communities in which the latest sexist murders have occurred and the corresponding Violence Units.
These meetings will be called whenever there is a “concentration” of sexist crimes, as explained on Wednesday by the Government Delegate against Gender Violence, Victoria Rosell, who set this limit at five murders per month.
The objective of the meeting is to analyze the way to give a better response to the potential victims of gender violence, which since they began to be counted in 2003 already amount to 1,188.
