Berlin (EFE).- Two people died and another seven were injured, three of them seriously, when a man armed with a knife pounced on them on a regional train on the way between Kiel and Hamburg (northern Germany).
Police sources reported that the attacker pounced on the passengers shortly before arriving at the Brokstedt station, in the “Land” of Schleswig Holstein, on the border with Denmark.
The weekly “Focus” reported that the attacker was arrested shortly after and that he is a Syrian, information that was later qualified by the popular newspaper “Bild”, according to which he is a Palestinian from Gaza.
The attacker is a young man, in his 20s, and apparently suffers from mental imbalances, according to coincident information from these two media outlets, as well as from the ntv television channel, which refers to sources from the Itzehoe police, in the district where the accident occurred.
About 20 minutes later there was a second notice warning that several people had been injured, including the attacker himself, who was admitted to a hospital in that town.
