Peppinielo, Peppe’s dog, who died last September, was thrown out onto the Neapolitan streets twice in a row by one of the daughters of its former owner.
The first time, the animal managed to find its way back to what was its home, but weeks later it was abandoned again on the other side of the city, explained to EFE one of the coordinators of the group of volunteers, Sergio Valentino, in a few days of intense cold and rain.
When the other two children of the deceased learned through social networks that their sister, with whom they do not speak, had gotten rid of Peppiniello, they joined the group of volunteers made up of veterinarians, animal caretakers, shelter managers and lovers of the animals, who also found out about the case through this channel.
It was another daughter of the deceased old man, with whom Peppinello now lives, who, equipped with her father’s clothes, managed to pick up the dog, hidden and frightened under the hood of a car.
The rescue group, baptized as “lacrimoni” (tears, in Spanish) for the tears of emotion when finding the dog, will continue to be active and collaborate in the search for animals whenever it is needed.
