Mérida, Jan 22 (EFE).- Aitana Bonmatí, chosen as the best player in the final of the women’s soccer Super Cup, in which Barcelona won its third title by beating Real Sociedad (0-3), has stated that “Individual prizes are always the consequence of collective work.”
In the press room of the Romano José Fouto stadium, in Mérida, the scene of this final, Bonmatí, scorer of two of her team’s three goals, said that the goals belong to those who score them, but also to those who facilitate them, in reference to her teammates.
Despite this double title, that of the team and that of the best player, Bonmatí has asserted that her nature is to “be non-conformist and ambitious”, which is why more is always demanded.
For his part, the coach of the Catalan team, Jonatan Giráldez, stated that his team deserved to win through an ambitious approach, fighting for every ball and knowing how to respond to the high pressure “with which we knew it was going to come out” Real society.
«Winning any game is always complicated. The evolution of women’s football is on the rise and that forces you to give a demanding response to any team”, added Giráldez,
In his opinion, winning a title in the middle of the season “motivates and rewards”, but we have to give “continuity” to our game throughout the rest of the competition.
