Sources from the production company, Barco Pirata, have informed EFE this Saturday that, after the last show, in the Alicante town of Villena, the vehicle was stolen from the company contracted to transport the cargo of this work, included in the program of the fortieth Málaga Theater Festival.
“Once again we are witnesses of the fragility and vulnerability of the theater and also of the resilience and ability to overcome this type of eventuality,” the company said in a statement.
Pirate Ship has regretted this “unforeseen event outside the company and the theatre” and has announced that, “given the confidence in the professionalism and experience of the veteran cast that makes up the company, the performance will be done without the stolen elements”, therefore that the spectators will attend this Saturday “a unique show”, the sources have indicated.
However, the Teatro Cervantes offers spectators who have purchased their tickets and who do not wish to attend the performance the possibility of having their amount refunded.
This work is directed by Mario Gas, it was written by Alberto Iglesias -who was inspired by a news item published in 2010 about a trial of four German retirees for kidnapping their tax advisor- and includes in its cast Juan Calot, Vicky Peña, Manuel Galiana, Gloria Muñoz, Helio Pedregal and Alberto Iglesias himself.
