Laura Fuentes recalled that this Saturday Podemos celebrates its ninth anniversary, and has stressed that the assemblies that are held on various islands are an opportunity to continue getting closer to the street, since the purpose is to listen to the people, who, she added, “She is fed up with the parties talking about themselves.”
The leader of Podemos has stated that it is about listening to the problems of citizens in relation to issues such as rent and food prices, and has asserted that they do not forget that they come from activism.
“We are preparing for the elections, but based on proposals, such as the regulation of the shopping basket, since a pensioner cannot be deciding if it comes to buy meat or fish to feed their grandchildren”, has indicated Laura Fuentes.
The spokesman for the Sí Podemos Canarias group in the regional Parliament, Manuel Marrero, has declared that in 2015 an assembly process began throughout the country, and since then this political formation has participated in the institutions, first in the opposition and now also in governments.
Thus, in the Canary Islands they are part of the regional executive and have also been governed in councils and town halls, and Manuel Marrero has pointed out that Podemos wants to continue with the work of listening and dialogue. EFE
