Pamplona, Jan 20 (EFE).- Deputy Carlos García Adanero, suspended from militancy by UPN for breaking voting discipline in light of the labor reform, will be the PP candidate for Pamplona Mayor’s Office, sources from this party report.
García Adanero and Sergio Sayas, also a deputy suspended from militancy by the regional party, have reached an agreement this week to stand in the regional and municipal elections under the acronym of the PP.
After signing the agreement this Tuesday in Pamplona, both the president of the PP of Navarra, Javier García, and the two deputies (who have already resigned from UPN but will not leave their seat in Congress) assured that they had not talked about lists elections, beyond the fact that “they will be formed jointly”.
Javier García is the one who will lead the candidacy for the Parliament of Navarra, but they did not explain who will be number 2 or if the deputies will go on the list.
This Friday the PPN has made public the decision that García Adanero will be the one who heads the list for the Pamplona City Council in the May elections, who has valued “his political experience, his deep significance with his city and with the defense of values Constitutional in Navarre.
However, in the case of Sergio Sayas, the role that awaits him as a result of this agreement has not yet been specified, as confirmed to EFE by the general secretary of the PPN and senator Amelia Salanueva, who has assured that “at the moment there is nothing more”.
«They have been spoken to in general because we are going to collaborate in all the elections. That was the commitment and this is the first consequence of that collaboration, but at the moment, there are no more concrete things”, he said about Sayas.
The leader of the PP of Navarra has shown her optimism about the agreement reached with the platform of García Adanero and Sayas: “We are happy because there has been an understanding, something important because we see that the center-right voter is concerned about the unilateral fracture of UPN in Navarre Suma».
“We have tried to add, unite and offer an alternative in Navarra to the government of socialism together with Bildu and Podemos”, Salanueva pointed out.
As for García Adanero, the PPN points out that he will be a “candidate sensitive to the needs of Pamplona and will represent the interests of the capital and of all Navarrese, too, from his seat in the Congress of Deputies.”
