Seville (EFE).- Andalusia is the third region of Spain with the lowest rate of work absenteeism, at six percent, and in the case of absenteeism due to temporary disability it is reduced to 4.5% in the third quarter of 2022, one tenth more in both cases than in the same period of 2021, according to Adecco.
In Spain, the rate of absenteeism from work in Spain in the third quarter of 2022 was 6.7%, 0.1 points more than in the same period of the previous year, while the rate of absenteeism due to temporary disability (the most common cause ) was 5%, 0.1 points more than a year earlier.
According to the Quarterly report: work absenteeism and accident rate prepared by Adecco with data from the third quarter of 2022, the Basque Country was the region with the highest rate of absenteeism (9.8%) followed by Navarra (8.1%), while the Balearic Islands ( 3.9%) and the Canary Islands (5.3%) were the regions with the lowest rate.
The director of the Adecco Group Institute, Javier Blasco, stressed that the increase in the rate of absenteeism is due “to the significant reduction in effective agreed hours, due to the effect of summer vacations.”

According to the report, the incidence of occupational accidents stood at 234 accident victims per 100,000 inhabitants during the working day, 0.5% less than the previous year, and 34 for accident victims in itinere (during the trip to the place work), 3% more.
In the Andalusian case, the incidence during the working day is 232 injured (+1% year-on-year) and there are four accidents due to Covid-19 per 100,000 people, a 60% growth compared to last year.
Regarding the severity of the accidents, Adecco affirms that almost all of them were minor, more than 99% in the case of those that occurred during the day, although there was a rise in the number of fatal accidents during the day, which rose 27%, up to 194 deaths.
By age and gender, men suffer a greater number of accidents between the ages of 40 and 44, while the highest incidence among women occurs between the ages of 45 and 49, according to the study. EFE
